[News] How Did Boston University Choose The Boston Terrier As Their Mascot?
Bostinno.com chose to profile seven of Boston’s college mascots and one of which was Rhett the Boston Terrier of Boston University. Our favorite little friends are represented well across the college. Here’s the story: In 1922, Boston University students got to vote for one of two potential mascots. Their choices? A Boston terrier or a moose. Students chose the Boston terrier in part because the dog was first bred in America in 1869, the same year Boston University was chartered.
