Toby The Boston Terrier Eats Popcorn

Apparently, Toby the Boston Terrier eats popcorn like it’s going out of style. His mom Amy makes a great point: “This is Toby, he loves popcorn! How can I say no to that face?!” We know some people are going to wonder if a Boston Terrier should be eating popcorn and we have an answer. According to the ASPCA, “Unbuttered, unsalted popcorn is not known to contain components that could make pets sick, but popcorn could potentially become lodged in the throat, creating an upper airway obstruction. Owners who wish to offer their pets popcorn should consider this risk beforehand.”

We decided to look a little deeper and thought we’d share another post on iBostonTerrier.com which said that it’s actually a healthy snack for your Boston Terrier. We posted the article titled “Healthy Human Foods That Your Dog Can Snack On” and popcorn is listed on the healthy side. 1. My Bostons only eat popcorn if it is freshly popped with real butter, no microwave or margarine or prebagged stuff. SPOILED??

  2. Sounds like they are pretty smart to me. Every dog that I have ever had loved popcorn. My boston sniffs it and wants nothing to do with it, but will follow you around if you have anything sweet in your hands. They are all so different. Donna

  3. My Boston also loves popcorn. He can’t have anything with wheat gluten so for treats he gets veggies ( especially loves carrots and cucumbers) , popcorn, fruit such as watermelon or apple pieces, chicken.
